The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Women in Science and Technology Forum, a newly added segment to the X-Lake Forum, was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Shenzhen in Shenzhen, a city in South China's Guangdong Province on November 16.
With the theme "science-education coordination and intelligence-driven future," the forum was organized by Shenzhen Women's Federation, Shenzhen Municipal Commission of Science, Technology and Innovation, Nanshan District People's Government and Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School.
The forum witnessed the launch of Shenzhen Women Sci-tech Innovation Fund and Shenzhen Women Sci-tech Public Welfare Project.
Shenzhen Women Sci-tech Innovation Fund was jointly launched by Shenzhen Women's Federation, Longhua District People's Government and Shenzhen Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. As a special fund with investments from State-owned enterprises, it aims to support women in their sci-tech endeavors, build a platform for women to engage in cooperation concerning human resources and coordination among enterprises, universities and research institutes, and provide women with financial, managerial and technical assistance. The two enterprises have funded the first 500 million yuan (US $69.4 million).
Shenzhen Women Sci-tech Public Welfare Project was founded by Shenzhen Women and Children's Development Foundation in collaboration with several partners under the guidance of Shenzhen Women's Federation. It aims to bring together all forces available in sci-tech and financial sectors, make innovations in public welfare service and it focuses on social and educational affairs.
